      Hi Fi Baby

“Hi Fi Baby” is my 5th Solo project to date and it is my favorite

for a number of reasons….The musicians were top of the shelf

and it only took 3 days to record, mix, & master.  My old buddy,

of 25 years, Kim Wilson, not only did a bang up job producing,

he also played some of his best harmonica yet, on “Hi Fi Baby”

and “Whispers.”  Kim surprised us all when he played some low

down Delta Blues guitar on “It Ain’t Easy,” which he also penned.

Wilson’s laterst discovery, 26 year old, guitar player/prodigy, Troy

Gonyea, was almost psychic in his ability to compliment me and the

Rest of the band.

Doug Deming, Detroit guitar guru & good friend, shines throughtout

this CD.  Doug contributed his own, “Whispers” to the sessions, it is

one of my favorite tunes that we cut.  Troy and Doug weave some

truly hip magic around and about one another throughtout these

recordings.

On Keyboards and B3 is Mark Stevens, another truly talented,

young  up and comer.  He boogies and rocks like a mad man!

Mark is currently part of the legendary, Roomful of Blues,

band, be on the look out for him.

Jon Ross was on Bass and he sure was swinging.  He had us

All felling it.  What a great privilege to work with him.

Finally, one of my true heroes, Richard Innes, on drums,

Kept us deep in the pocket, like only he could.  I was more

Than excited to work with him, being that he is the “Shufflinest

Mo’ Fo” in the world.

In addition to the aforementioned song contributions of Wilson

And Deming, we also laid down our own interpretations of tunes

Done by some of my musical mentors: Jerry McCain, Sam Myers,

Frankie Lee Sims, Eddie Clearwater, Johnny Temple, and Mr. Bear.

So turn this sucker up, put on your crazy shoes & shimmy ‘till

you break your  back.  This CD was not intended to save the

environment, or feed the hungry (well my family, I hope), but

these primal sounds may promote world peace by taking one

deep into the soul of some real rockin’ blues….
