                                         Letter From Greg “Fingers” Taylor

Despite rumors of my recent demise, I’m happy to report that all is well.  I’ve had some much needed time off these two weeks, after my break with Living Soul, my sincere apologize to everyone who came to recent shows expecting to see me play.

Frankly, the road got the road got the best of me, and I was tired, depressed and in poor health.  Something had to give and it did.

Best wishes to Don and Chris as they forge ahead on their paths and I’m grateful for the time we spent together.  I though we made some pretty good music, both on stage and in the studio, and I’ll always be proud of it.

I’ve been on a recovery mission these past 2 and ½ weeks, getting myself together and ready for this weekend on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.  July 26 is the annual Blue Crab Music Festival where I’ll be appearing with my old friend Johnny Sansone and his rocking Cajun/Blues band from New Orleans.  The Festival is a great one – Don’t miss it.  It’s in Cape Charles, VA, contact 757-442-5175 for details.  After my show, I’ll be shuttled off to Norfolk, VA for a gig at the Passatpalooa Festival at Jilian’s Waterside.

I’ll also be playing with local favorite Randy Lee Ashcraft at Sunday’s in the Park in Ocean City, MD on Sunday, July 27th.  After a couple of days off, I’ll do a 3 day stand with Randy Lee Ashcraft in Chincoteague, VA at the Landmark Crab House, July 30 and August 1st.  Whew!

In September, my new CD “Hi-Fi Baby”, on Billy Sturgis’ Warehouse Creek label, will officially be release.  Of course, I’ll have plenty of those CD’s, plus some of my early “Best Hits” collections, available at all my shows in Virginia and Maryland.

Also in September, I’ll be teaming up again with my excellent Detroit blues band, Doug Deming and the Jewel Tones.  We plan to hit the highway this fall to promote our new CD’s.  Looking forward to seeing old faces and meeting new friends along the way.  We’ll definitely be burnin’ up the Blues onstage wherever we go.  We even plan to play Germany and other venues in Europe in the next year.

Thanks to all my friends who have been calling in words of support and encouragement  - Amy Lee, Mac McAnally, Peter Mayer, Tim Krekel, Jay Spell, Joe Wolf, Jeri Burn, and Chris Carey to name a few.

Much gratitude for my family: Mom, Brent, Melanie, Amanda, Kim and my beautiful boys, Steven and Hunter – my inspiration now and always.

Don’t forget my upcoming 5-day cruise set for a February 2nd, 2004 departure out of Fort Lauderdale, FL.  We’ll be going to Belize, Cozumel and Key West – where I’ll give a guided tour of my old haunts in town.  Contact Mary or Gerry Sellers at Cruise Planners, phone # (888) 265-4536.  Please join us for some fun and plenty of music on the boat, including special guests!

Best Wishes,
